I love Siri. Mine has a British accent and I enjoy asking her all kinds of questions just to see what she’ll say. I ask her things like, “tell me a bedtime story.” “what should I eat for breakfast”, or “what’s the weather like today?” You probably do it too, LOL.
When I was growing up we read the encyclopedia and other books to learn random things. Now, all we have to do is speak into the phone or device, and boom….answers.
As great as Siri (or Alexa or Google) is, there are some answers they just don’t have. I would love it if Siri could help me straighten out my whole life. That would be so easy and convenient. If I could ask Siri the more serious questions I had, life would be so much better!
Siri can’t tell you who to date, what college to go to, or who to choose as your friends. Siri can’t tell you what to do when you break up with your boyfriend or when somebody is talking about you behind your back.
To be honest sometimes your parents, coaches, mentors, and friends don’t even have the answers you need. As much as they want to help you, they just don’t know how, but we are never without hope because one of the good things about having a relationship with God is that he helps you as you journey through life. God is there to answer our questions and give us the advice that we need – especially when we don’t know what to do.
For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. – Proverbs 2:6
Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better that gain from silver and her profit is better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can be compared with her. Long life is in her right hand, in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. -Proverbs 3:13-18
God has so many answers for us, but sometimes we’ll never get them if we don’t ask. Like Siri, he is FULL of wisdom and advice and he literally knows everything! Plus, he WANTS us to have abundant lives. The Bible says that we should ask for wisdom. When we have wisdom it’s easier to make good decisions because we have the knowledge, intelligence, and good-judgment that we need.
When you need answers, you can talk to God. He may not part the clouds and speak with a big booming voice like in the movies (that would be scary), but he will talk to you and show you things if you’re connected to him.
